I am sorry as a citizen of this beautiful country whenever i see statements humiliating and scorning Roma in some web pages, in some dictionaries or in some tv series.
Don't do this friends. Please, listen to the voice of conscience. Roma are the most colorful people of this country. They are being discriminated by even the other ones being discriminated. They are being humiliated. It's not useful for this country to use insulting words against Gypsy in mass media.
You have think carefully before writing anything about our people. The mafia typage, who attack Gypsy and kick out them from their neighbourhood, we met in a tv series was terrible. Don't make this kind of racist films anymore. Don't humiliate our people to break rating records. Don't forget, we will always stake out a claim for our country.
Don't you still understand what we, as Roma people, want? Our demand is demand of all Turkish citizens. Our problem is the problem of 75 million people.
First unemployment
Second social security
Third education
Fourth decent living
Fifth democracy
Sixth housing rights
Seventh fraternity. All of these are common demands of all our citizens.
Don't do this friends. Some writers are trying to put responsibility of all crimes on our shoulders. They are trying to stigmatize our people as usual suspects.
We are not the Gypsies you know anymore. Now, there are new Gypsies who are able to advocate their people under all circumstances against injustice. There is no more ignorant Roma. You have humiliated us in movies you made for years. You have to stop. Whenever you humiliate us, there will be an educated Gypsy to confront you. We will use our legal rights and take this kind attacks targeting people to the courts.
Think again please. Are there too many groups who can critic themselves. We can do this. Yes, there are some incorrigible ones among us. But you have to critise yourself too. Aren't there any criminals in your families? Please think about this.
Stop stigmatization. Stop racism. Stop hatred. Your mind which created stigmatization, racism and hatred until now have to work for benefit of your country. You have to think carefully before you do anything.
